In 2000, she became the first regional marketing and communications manager for Motorola University Asia Pacific in 21 years. Motorola University is the training and staff development arm of Motorola.
She organised the press conference for the signing of an agreement between Motorola University and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) and it was timed during the visit of President Bill Clinton to Hyderabad. Secretary of Commerce, William Daley attended the signing ceremony.
She managed a regional virtual team in leading a campaign to launch the use of “e-Learning” to 40,000 Motorolans around the Asia Pacific Region. This included a marketing campaign, roadshow and intranet site.
As part of a community media relations program for Motorola University, she organised another press conference in Malaysia’s Cyberjaya (Motorola and Malaysia Multimedia University (MMU)).
It was a fascinating challenge for Anna to work with instructional designers, HR directors and training managers around the region.
After a successful year with Motorola University, another financial crisis hit Asia and Motorola University closed its regional office in Hong Kong and later the entire Motorola University worldwide.
A new episode in Anna's career began in the spring of 2001.
