The second hotel Anna worked in China was the Tianlun Dynasty Hotel Beijing which is also a joint venture between a Hong Kong hotel management group and a mainland-based partner. Anna was the Marketing Communication Services Manager and part of the Pre-Opening team. The Pre-Opening team is responsible for training the staff and organising their department prior to the opening of the hotel. The hotel had at that time the largest indoor atrium in China and unusual food and beverage concepts.

Anna organised the VIP visits of French designer Pierre Cardin, US auto giant Lee Iacocca to the hotel and events such as China’s 1st Advertising and Public Relations Forum (nearly 800 people in attendance in the hotel’s unique indoor atrium).

Besides organising the local media relations, she created an in-house video, and publicised food and beverage promotions for the hotel’s discotheque, Moroccan style Lobby Lounge, and first indoor “Beijing Food Street”.

She helped to introduce the concept of a “buffet” and Mongolian Barbeque to nouveau riche Beijingers through the local media.

Anna was only one of 7 expatriates who completed their 2-year posting out of 45 expatriates.
