Motorola’s FACTS and Guide

The FACTS and Guide of Motorola have actually twice been winners with the Awards for Publication Excellence (USA) – once an Award of Excellence and once as a Grand Aware of Excellence. The FACTS is a 16 page corporate brochure, while the Guide is a 90 page compendium of the different business units of Motorola (about 25 business units). Both publications were also placed on-line on the new Motorola Asia Pacific region website and distributed on a global basis at Motorola sales office around the world.

In producing the award-winning publications, Anna Fang liaised with the various business units, their marketing divisions based in the Asia Pacific region and in the US and Europe.

As a first adopter, and in keeping with the new internet technology at the time – the publications were also placed as soft copies on the Motorola Asia Pacific region website.

In the past, Motorola had over 25 business units dealing in some way with communication like its mobile phone division which later became Razor and Android; Iridium Satellite phones; semiconductor division which later became Freescale Semiconductors; 2-way radio; research and development (the software centres in Asia) and its educational and training arm - Motorola University (the originator of Six Sigma and Black Belt).
