The Vietnam Real Estate Conference in Hong Kong was scheduled for the fall of 2008 in Hong Kong. The anna fang public relations company worked with Synergy International Events Pte Limited of Singapore to promote the Conference to the overseas real estate sector and to financial investors in Hong Kong.

Margaret Brooke of Professional Property Services was one of the spokespersons and she was interviewed by Bloomberg News and was a featured speaker at a Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce event about real estate companies doing business in the investment hot spots of Thailand, Vietnam and China. In addition, anna fang public relations also worked with the Vietnam Consulate in Hong Kong.

Vietnam faces some of the biggest economic challenges following six consecutive years of GDP growth averaging at 8% per annum. Annual inflation has been in the double digits for seven straight months - soaring to 25.2 per cent in May 2008. In addition, the trade deficit has widened and sparked fears of the devaluation of the dong.

Despite the challenges, the underlying market fundamental for real estate remains strong in Vietnam. These include a predominantly young population, growing middle class and a rising in flow of expatriates and rapid urbanization. With effect from January 2009, foreigners are allowed to own apartments for 50 years, and this adds some 21,000 potential buyers to domestic demands. In the meantime, occupancy for grade A office buildings remains full with no new supply in sight.
