Anna Fang was a member of the BPW International Mentoring Taskforce and was the Content Editor for the mentoring web section on the BPW International website. The entire project took 18 months in the making with the collection of information for the website and then, the writing and editing of each section. Photos were also contributed by the many BPW countries.
Mentoring is a method to share knowledge and to advise members on their professional, career and personal development. Mentoring programs within BPW around the world is one way to attract new members to BPW and to retain current members.
The following countries had mentoring programs during 2005-2008 and their country’s mentoring program was featured in a webpage with photos and their accomplishments:
|Asia Pacific and Australia
- Hong Kong
- Nepal (Skills Training)
- New Zealand
- Taiwan (Taipei)
- Thailand (Skills Training)
- Uzbekistan (Skills Training)
- The Netherlands
- Spain (Valencia)
- United States
Some of the topics covered in the mentoring web section pn the BPW International website included:
- What is mentoring?
- The Benefits of Mentoring for BPW
- How to Get Started in Your Country
- Suggested Guidelines for Mentors and Proteges

Because the website had a special mentoring microsite with over 25 countries’ information, this enabled the website to be a winner in 2008 – in the category of “Most Improved Website” in the Awards for Publication Excellence.
